Leprechaun Appearance & Physical Characteristics
Usually short, but sometimes very tall, and of essentially uniform appearance, these little sprites are easily recognisable
by their physical characteristics, clothing, and acoutrements.
Leprechauns USUALLY have:
- A red/orange beard & hair
- Waistcoat (could be black, plaid/tartain, or gold)
- Single-breasted coat
- Emerald green overall clothing colours
- Emerald green top hat (with black band & big silver buckle)
Leprechauns FREQUENTLY have:
- No mustache
- Frock coat with tails
- Knickerbocker pants (tartan/plaid)
- Over-the-calf stockings (plain or striped)
- Emerald green Top Hat (with black band & silver buckle)
- Black patent-leather shoes (with silver buckle), or curly-toed pointed elf shoes.
- Pipe (corn-cob and/or long stemmed)
Leprechauns SOMETIMES have:
- Red/orange mustache
- Wire-rimmed spectacles
- flat caubeen
- Bright red colour variations (instead of Emerald Green)
Leprechaun Accouterments:
- Hammer
- Shoe or shoes that are under repair
- Needle & thread
- Leather apron
- Shamrocks
- Crock of Gold
- Sack of dirty potatoes
- Shillelagh
- Drinking mug - they never know when a drink might come their way...
