2023 CKNS Four seasons paddling

This year Penny joined the three other Harding boys to complete the 2023 CKNS Four Season Paddling Award! Busy schedules made finding time everyone was available tricky, but we made it work!

January 18
Whynachts Cove, sunset paddle.

February 1 & 2nd
Rapids into Five Island Lake and partially iced pond.

March 25,
Month 100! Williams Lake (the little part)

April 23
Martin’s River. Adult butts were too big to scrape and bang down the stream but boys made it a couple of kilometres. Then the parents paddled out into the ocean.

May 7
Alex paddled numerous islands in Fredrick Lake with a friend

May 22
All paddled on Mersey River (Kejimkujik)

June 21
Evan & Alex did multiple paddles on Fredrick Lake. Alex and I paddled him to school.

June 30
Penny Alex and me Five Island Lake

July 1
Boys paddled Frederick Lake. Penny, Alex and I paddled Five Island Lake

Aug 31
After loads of rain - slipped out for a quick paddle on Five Island Lake trying to avoid heavy winds, everywhere.

Sept 10
Penny, Alex and I paddle surfed at Martinique Beach.

Evan paddled last minute on the 30th in a stopover coming back from Keji

October 1
Penny & the boys paddled Rodgers Brook in Keji.
October 31, I paddled Five Island Lake at sunset in a shark costume.

November 25
Yankee Cove. Strongish breeze and -2C; closest we’ve come to capsizing with a timorous dog.

Nov 30
Evan paddled solo on Five Island Lake

Dec. 16
Alex and I went to Shubie Park so that we could paddle through the ice up the canal.

Dec 27 Penny and Evan took turns solo paddling in our Five Island Lake to finish the year

Like seeing what looks like a 14 foot Scott Kevlar canoe in the pictures. Special canoe to me, and mine has seen a lot of water…Eric

It is a 17.5 Clipper Tripper. At only 54 lbs, it’s a pleasure to transport and paddle!

Mine is about 50 pounds too, Jeff, and a joy to hoist up on the shoulders and tramp through the bush.  Also a joy to see on the water on a sunny day…Eric

It may have been.  We bought it from the original owner who had come from BC. We love it!

Good Morning and Happy New Year all!

Anyone interested in going paddling this afternoon?

Somewhere near HRM? Maybe about 1 - 130 for a couple of hours or so?

Get 2024 started off paddling?

John
