It is considered, by Maritimers, a privilege to be the owner of a Maritime-built Chestnut canoe. The company operated from a manufacturing building in Fredericton, N.B. The product line soon became famous across Canada.

 

Chestnut cedar/canvas canoe. 15.5 ft in length. Carefully restored by Kip McCurdy – canoe builder, repair & restore specialist here in Nova Scotia. This canoe would sell for up to $5,500 in Ontario or Quebec. Many similar canoes grace the shorelines and waters of the multitude of lakes in the Kawarthas and Muskoka areas of Ontario.”
