Great report Tristan, thanks for sharing! The cliff portage at the big falls is the "epic" way to go, with the best photographs, but is not the easiest option. If someone does run or line the rapids below Big Stillwater Lake they would want to ferry to river left far above fish ladder or perhaps ferry to the island between falls and fish ladder. One canoe took a very good double track portage with some downed trees on river left below Big Stillwater Lake and put in below fishladder.  The fishladder has very dangerous recirculating water from the series of low head dams.
