2025 - Selected Monthly Paddles
January 19, 2025 - Halifax’s North West Arm. First paddle of the year. Took advantage of the 7c temperatures before the polar temperatures returned.
February 8, 2025 - Out to Blind Bay. The channel on the northern end of Clark’s Island was blocked with ice. The crosswinds from Scott’s River made the return trip to my launch site at Big Deep Cove a little challenging.
March 14, 2025 - Out to Shad Bay and Nine Mile River with Heather and Dusan. First of many paddles in March. March was a good paddle month.
April 4, 2025 - Out doing water trail inspections on the Prospect River Water Trail between MacDonald Lake and Pantaloon Lake. My 2nd outing in April.
May 19, 2025 - Out to The Two Lakes with Jason. Checking for a potential portage route to Ragged Lake. Launched from Williamswood subdivision (Steven Murphy Road).
June 7, 2025 - Out to Cloud Lake WA with Jason. We paddled and portaged 27 km without killing each other!
July 2, 2025 - Out to Five Mile Lake, Hants County. Carried in from highway 101.
August 2, 2025 - River Denys River - Canoed from the two bridges on the Marble Mtn. Road to the abandoned railway bridge with “S”.
September 13, 2025 - Out to Big Five Bridges Lake with Jason.
October 7, 2025 - Out to Five Bridges WA to brush out the portage between Upper five Bridge Lake and Middle Five Bridge Lake. Launched at Hubley Big Lake by Flake Brook.
November 23, 2025 - Out to the Terence Bay WA. Travelled from Williamswood down to Ragged Lake via the Two Lake - Sandy Lake route. Paddle to the top of Ragged Lake and portage up to Frederick Lake. Carried over to Fourth Lake Terence Bay for pick up.
December 6, 2025 - Day break paddle on Halifax’s North West Arm with Christmas lights a blazing. Launched at Horseshoe Island through the ice. -5c.
