January 11 – Canoeing Northwest Arm (Halifax). Overcast, light drizzle.

 

February 19 – Again, canoeing Northwest Arm. Not terribly original.

 

March 28 – Canoeing lower Herbert River. Highway 14 bridge to head of tide at Brooklyn.

 

April 24 – Canoeing and portaging Herbert River. Douglas Road (Happy Home site) upstream to Devils Jaw and back.

 

May 1- Canoeing Herbert River. Same section as before.

 

June 14 – Canoeing Cornwallis River. Coldbrook to Kentville. Managed to dump due to gross overconfidence in a teensy rapid.

 

July 2-3 – Canoeing and camping Melopseketch Lake. A work party; completed restoration of portage to Fishing Lake (Liscomb River).

 

August 9 – Circumnavigation of Lawlor and McNabs Islands in Halifax Harbour. Sea kayaking.

 

September 12 – Sea kayaking a tidal portion of Shubenacadie River (Wickwire Station Park to mouth of Gays River and back.).

 

October 16. Canoeing Hartman Lake in Ship Harbour Long Lake Wilderness Area. A work party. We finally completed restoration of the long carry to the Flat Lakes.

 

November 6-8 – Camping, hiking, and sea kayaking off Norse Cove Campground near Tangier, NS.

 

December 3 – Canoeing lower Herbert River. Again Meek Road boat launch to head of tide at Brooklyn.
