I wish to thank those who cleaned out the portage. I had walked the portage in Sept. of 2018 and it needed a trim back then. If I figure out how to upload pics I will upload then & now pics

heres a snapshot of the original portages that ckns members completed in the 90s

Ill send out the individual gps tracks in the next emails.

there are also portages from big hubley into the five bridges system and
then over the height of land from big five bridges towards powers lake
and scotts river. This used to be an annual event, but I havent been
there in severl years and it was becoming overgrown on the powers lake
end. I have these gpx tracks if anyone is interested.

The above portage, and the one below it, between Middle Five Bridge Lake
and Big Five Bridge Lake, were recently cleaned up thanks to the Five
Bridges Wilderness Heritage Trust. The actual work was done by a contractor,
by a N.S. Environment summer student, and by two volunteers from Canoe Kayak
Nova Scotia. Boy, was it ever hot out on the tree-less barrens! Check out
the fancy new bridge over a brook that flows under the latter portage into a
small pond...
