On February 24 the Board will vote on its future and they may very
well choose to cancel the lease. This would mean no oversight of any
kind and the trail could very possibly be sold off piecemeal to
adjacent landowners.
The Board is worried about their liability if they don't repair the
LTT, and the cost of doing the repairs, but there are ways of getting
funding--it neededn't require much out of the budget.

The Board needs to hear from as many people as possible about :
how much they use the Trail
how many other people they see on it
how it provides access to other trails
etc.
You can go on about the need to diviersfy, its appeal to tourists, its
potential as a link to the East Coast and northern parts of the
Island, but I think a few simple sentences about what its value is to
you personally is the most important thing. I am hoping they get so
many letters/emails they won't have time to read them all.

It really is hanging in the balance--I think we may have 3 directors
in favour of it: Ken McRae, Penny Cote, and Patty Edwards, but I am
really worried about how Hira Chopra, Glen Wong, and Mike Kokura will
vote, so every letter, email, or phone call will help.
