Port Alberni Cycling Club is excited to announce the introduction of
"Toonie Race" mountain bike races to the Alberni Valley. Toonie races
are local races held bi-weekly that provide regularly scheduled mid-
week racing to local riders. How it works is PACC teams up with a
local business who will sponsor the race by providing food and
refreshments at the post race social. The course will be intermediate
in difficulty and approximately 45min. to 1.5 hrs depending on how
fast you ride.
Toonie races are fun, social events that involve local riders and
local business working together
to promote cycling and active lifestyles within their community.
The events are called toonie races because after buying your PACC
membership the entry fee is only $2 which includes food and beverage
post race. All entry fee's collected go towards prizes for category
winners and club sanctioned programs such as trail building and
maintenance and cycling advocacy interests. So we encourage you to
come out ride your bike, enjoy the race and support local business,
cycling and healthy living in Port Alberni.
