Dependencies

to pactester
pactester doesn't appear to use Log4perl directly. Is it only
included because it's a dependency of JavaScript-SpiderMonkey?

I'm building a FreeBSD port of this, and want to register the
dependencies appropriately.

Yes, JavaScript-SpiderMonkey module depends on Log4perl.

Sounds good.

Any idea if there should be problems using JavaScript-SpiderMonkey
0.16 rather than 0.17? (The FreeBSD port hasn't yet been upgraded.)

I don't think there should be any problem. Nothing much changes
between 0.16 and 0.17:
