Thank you to those of you who made it today to check out our possible new location (braving both the crazy rain and the noisy crowd right next to us).

The new location may turn out to be an interm fix while we continue to hunt for a location.

Here are the immediate pros and cons after one meeting:
Pros:
Intimate, well lit space
Water station
Food was both good (and not a requirement for us to order any to have use of the room--although personally I found it convenient to be able to have lunch during my lunch hour).
Access to porch on sunny days
We can have it every Tuesday for as long as we need, thus ensuring that we are not going to be homeless.
Free of charge

Cons:
Open walkway into the restaurant caused some noise issues for those sitting close to that end of the room. (This is basically unalterable, although we did brainstorm some solutions that we can ask the restaurant if we can implement should we end up there on a long term basis.  But as is, this one item alone, is enough to keep us on the search for some other location).
We are not a group that is used to having wait staff around, so that was a bit of a distraction (if we are there for longer than a few weeks, we can probably make some requests for both them and us to minimize the distraction).
It is close, but still not as close to the Multnomah Building as we would like to be, given the amount of county employees that are members of the club.

Parking was split: some of us found it to be ample and easy, some of us found it to be difficult.

We will continue the hunt, but in the meantime, we will continue meeting at The East Bank Saloon until we have an alternative solution.

Warmest regards,
Kristi Govertsen

Thanks for the update.

One idea:  I would be willing to pay more dues that could be used to pay for location closer to the Multnomah Building, that is more conducive having a meeting place without the distractions.

For whatever it’s worth, I can go anywhere, would prefer to keep the dues down (although eating lunch could get prohibitive too LOL).
