Dearest PacMasters,

I am writing today with important news.  Last Tuesday, the final remaining PacMasters club members voted to disband the club.

As many of you know, the location change from the Multnomah County Building has been a difficult obstacle for our PacMasters club.  We tried the East Bank Saloon for the summer, then the Lucky Lab for a few weeks, but the lack of a good space to meet that is free for our club has meant that enthusiasm has waned.  Without a reliable place to meet, our steady membership dropped and the few remaining members became heavily burdened, asked to take on big responsibilities week after week.

Last week, it was time to renew our membership dues and to make a decision about the future of our club.  Under the facilitation of our area governor and division governor, we as a club realized that the best choice for our remaining members would be to disband.

And so, the long history of PacMasters Toastmasters has come to an end.

PacMasters has held a special place in our hearts and minds - each week working on our public speaking skills and developing friendships.  We'd like to pay tribute to the great memories of PacMasters by throwing a Farewell Party on Friday, October 22nd at 5pm.  We'd love for you to join us, whether it's been years since you've been to PacMasters or just a few months or weeks.

Farewell Party Details:

When: Friday, October 22nd at 5pm
Where: Lucky Lab Restaurant on SE Hawthorne and 9th - we've rented out the room off the Hawthorne entrance
Who: You!  PacMasters young and old, near and far as well as representatives from surrounding clubs and our district governor.
Special Bonus: In true PacMasters style, we'll host a final TableTopics competition.  Here's your last chance to go for the PacMasters Gold!!

We hope you'll join us.  If you have any PacMasters memorabillia, pictures of area contests, prize ribbons, etc, will you bring it?  We'll put it on display for the night and share in the memories.

RSVP if you'd like, but no worries if you don't - we'd just like to see you there.

Thank you for the memories fellow PacMasters, I'm looking forward to seeing you all on October 22nd.

Sincerely,
Amy Sandoz
President

I will plan on making it.  I know that a lot of the Supplies and other old stuff is up in Ken’s office, I am sure Ken would like to open up a corner in his office by having it all taken off his hands.  I look forward to seeing all of you wonderful people.

I am sorry to hear the club is disbanding. I really enjoyed it the
few times I attended.

You are right about the lack of a good location. A couple of times, I
drove over from Milwaukie on a lunch hour from work.
I could not find a parking spot and ended up not attending.

I met wonderful people at the club and hope we meet up again. Please
let me know if you recreate the club or
join other clubs.
