how to tag Packer builder nodes while building oracle image

Hi All,

I am using packer version 1.0.0 ,  is there a way to tag the packer builder nodes with the tags.

With this packer version I am currently able to tag aws/azure/gcp images but not oracle.

is there a way tag packer builder nodes while creating oracle image.

I am using 'oracle-oci' builder to bake oracle ami.

First, update your packer, you are on an old version. Currently on 1.3.4

Sure I am aware of the fact that our packer version is old. Upgrading it to newer version is a big process in our organisation.

Provided, with this packer version (1.0.0) "tags" are supported for other cloud vendors (aws,azure, gcp). Is it supported for oracle as well ?

Getting below error :

I am not familiar with that builder, but looking through source I did not find a reference to tags. I could have missed it as I did a quick look.

I did find a reference in Aug 28 2018 about adding support for freeform tagging of images. So you will need to check on the version of the builder you are using then.

Yes .. 

I think you referred this link https://github.com/hashicorp/packer/pull/6338 where it says this feature is available from v1.3.0 onwards in oracle.

can you please confirm on that  ?

Sorry I did not use the oracle builder, maybe someone else might be better to answer your question.
