packer not working on my Fedora 20 machine.

Hi, 

i have  unzipped packer binary  and when i try to run  packer, sometimes it  raises  exception, sometimes hangs and sometimes just exits.please help me to point out the problem.

kernel: 3.19.8-100.fc20.x86_64

So few things here.
1.) Try packer version 1.2.x
2.) Makesure libvert and qemu is installed
Assuming you have all the provisioners and Jsons set correctly,

By the way, Fedora 20 was EOL June, 2015, maybe it's time to upgrade..
