How to increase the AMI create time

I get the below error after 30min.. Please help me out in letting me know how to overcome this?
==> amazon-ebs: Waiting for AMI to become ready...
==> amazon-ebs: Error waiting for AMI. Reason: <nil>
==> amazon-ebs: Error waiting for AMI. Reason: <nil>
==> amazon-ebs: Step "stepCreateAMI" failed

Try increasing AWS_MAX_ATTEMPTS and AWS_POLL_DELAY_SECONDS, see https://packer.io/docs/builders/amazon.html#exceeded-wait-attempts-while-waiting-for-tasks-to-complete

So I am running into these errors too, when you say set those variables as env variables do you mean before running any packer build command to run "export AWS_MAX_ATTEMPTS=60"?

What would be the AWS_MAX_Attempts and AWS_POLL_DELAY_SECONDS value for making an ami more than 1 hour time limit? I tried running the script after setting the environment AWS_MAX_ATTEMPTS - 120 and AWS_POLL_DELAY_SECONDS -60 in my system. But didn't help. DO we have to set the environment variables in the system where the packer script is running or on the ami machine?
