Tagging AMI with the source AMI ID- few AMI's are created without tag

[spin...@gmail.com]

i have tagged the AMI's with the SourceAMI tag as below. However, few AMI's are being created without tag. 

"tags": {

"based_on_ami": "{{.SourceAMI}}"

}

1. where does packer tag the AMI and how to confirm the same?

2. Are there any logs that can help in debugging the issue?

Run with env var PACKER_LOG=1 and if you catch one case is not set please attach it here. This sounds like a bug.
