IP Lookup failed

[Santhosh]

I am trying to create vmware image for Ubuntun 16.04.1 using packer. I am unable to complete the headless installation and my installation is aborted at "Load Debconf preconfiguration file" error (please see the attached files)

I also see this error

It would be great if someone can let me know what I am missing here.

not much information on the screenshot, can you share your packer json template and the response file?

If you are editing this files on Windows, can you ensure the files are being saved as txt file with unix end of lines ?

you can run dos2unix on them

With the atlas-packer-vagrant-tutorial, I am able to spin a 12.04 vm fine...I modified the template.json file boot command and iso_url to work with ubuntu-16.04.2 and I hit the same issue and see this error file=/cdrom/preseed/preseed.cfg is missing
