Hey Everyone,
I know we, the Pack4Linux team, haven't posted an update in a while,
and that's because we've been reorganizing and working hard to bring
you the next Pack4Linux release. Over the past few months we've been
doing stress tests of Pack4Linux in real world situations, and taking
notes on how we can improve. I can tell you now that we will be making
many changes to the next release of Pack4Linux, to make it easier to
use.
As you all probably know by now, a few weeks ago our Bittorrent
distribution system, including our tracker and high speed seed,
stopped working unexpectedly. We worked with our website host to
restore Bittorrent functionality, but to date that has been
unsuccessful. So we went ahead and closed down our Bittorrent system,
and merged ISO image distribution will our regular file server.
That brings me to the next thing we've changed: file distribution. In
order to provide faster and more continuous service, we've moved from
using FTP to mirrored HTTP to distribute files. The new file location
is
http://files.pack4linux.org.
Lastly, a few months ago we were invited to send people to speak at
the Open Source Automation Development Lab's Real Time Linux Workshop
2010. We are pleased to announce that Pack4Linux implementor Glen
Wernersbach, and myself will be going to speak. We are leaving for
Nairobi today, and we hope to further the world of open source
automation through our presentation. We invite everyone to come to the
conference and hear us speak and meet us. We will also be answering
questions about Pack4Linux.
Links to the previously discussed items are avaliable on the new,
revamped

Sincerely,
Philip Wernersbach
Lead Pack4Linux Developer/Maintainer
