I hope the meeting went well, sorry I missed it!

Should we do this on Veteran's Day? It would serve
as our Nov. outing and encourage scouts to get their
uniforms in order.

Calling All Scouts

Help honor our honored Veterans on the 100th anniversary of Veterans Day, Sunday November 11, 2018....

By walking with a massive Scouting cluster in the San Jose Veterans Day Parade.

Yes, this is the centennial celebration of the end of World War 1 in 1918.

Who: ALL Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, parents, and adult leaders are welcome to walk. We expect hundreds of Scouters and leaders to walk this year.

What: Paying our respects to the thousands of veterans along the parade route. 30,000 spectators along the parade route. We will also be handing out 'THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE CARDS' to veterans. The cards are being made by schools and Scouts around the Bay. We just have to hand them out.

Where: Parking and staging area and the exact route are TBD pending San Jose issuing final permits by the first week of November. But the route will probably be from SAP Center, down to Market Street, ending just past the Tech Museum.

When: Exact time is TBD pending final permits. But we will probably start marching around noon-ish on Sunday Nov 11.

Why: To honor our beloved Veterans

BONUS! For the 2nd year in a row, we will be giving THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE cards to veterans along the parade route. Schools and Scout units have made almost 6000 cards for distribution. So we'll be handing them out along the route.

To sign your troop/unit/school/whatever up to march with us, just register online here:

Be sure to wear your best dress uniform, and have a color guard carrying a U.S. flag, and any troop banners you want to bring.

We hope you can join us on Sunday November 11, 2018 for the 100th annual Veteran's Day.

Yours in Scouting,
Dean McCully
