Hi everyone,

I hope that you're all doing well and taking care of yourselves and your loved ones during this trying time.

While the closures of the schools did mark the end of our program for this school year, there are now virtual, online adventures for those that are interested. You can use them as supplemental activities or to complete adventures - if you are not able to participate in them and your Scout hasn't finished all of their adventures for the next rank, please do not be concerned. We will be ensuring that all Scouts are able to advance to their next rank regardless.

More information on these programs can be found at: https://michiganscouting.org/ScoutOn
and registration (there is no charge for these) can be found at: https://scoutingevent.com/272
(I recommend using the filters 'Advancement' and 'Cub Scouts' to hep narrow the options)

If your Scout does complete a new adventure, please let me know so that I can record it and ensure you get the loop/pin associated with it. We will hold an awards ceremony for all awards in the fall.

Council has also asked us to share the following message with you:

-----

Hello Scout Parents:

I hope your family is safe and healthy during these challenging times.  Although we may not be meeting as we normally do, I hope your family has checked out the Scouting opportunities available on michiganscouting.org/scouton. We hope you are taking advantage of the virtual Scouting on this site and you are continuing to #ScoutOn during this time. I am sure we are all looking forward to getting back together.

As our society looks for leadership in times of challenge, we look to Scouting. Our Scouts have always been prepared. With help, we can continue to build our children into leaders. Trustworthy leaders. Helpful leaders. Brave leaders. Your support is needed more now than ever before to continue life-changing programs Scouting has always offered, and always will.

The council continues to support us by maintaining their staff and resources to aid leaders like me and create virtual content for your Scout(s) and families. After the virus has passed, the work will not only continue but be even more important. Whatever our the new normal will be after this time, your children will need the values, experiences, and skills taught in Scouting.

Your financial support helps Scouting in the Michigan to:

  • Serve all youth who want the opportunity to be a Scout.
  • Provide training resources and materials to leaders like me.
  • Recruitment materials for our group.
  • Online Resources
  • Camperships
  • Program for the less advantaged
  • And More

I would like to encourage you to view this video below and consider supporting the Scouting program here in the Michigan.   We also encourage you to share this video with friends to share with them the impact Scouting is making in our community, state, nation, and world.

Giving is easy from your mobile device.  Simply text GIVINGTHEDREAM to 91999.

Please take care of yourselves, and I hope that we will all be able to get together soon.

Jody
