Cub Scouts Pack 116 - Updates, Dues and Pack Meeting Saturday, January 9th at 10:00 AM

Good morning Parents of Pack 116!

Happy New Year!  We hope your  holidays were merry and healthy!  We will be meeting this Saturday, January 9th at 10:00 AM via Google Meet.  Details for the meeting are included below.  

Pack 116 Dues - If you haven't paid your annual dues yet, please reach out to Treasurer Ken Jurjovec at kjur...@aol.com.  He is able to let you know how much the dues are for your family.  There are volunteer, sibling, Lion and Tiger discounts that can be applied to your $150.  Payment can be completed through a link that Ken sends to your.  It is easy and contactless.

This Saturday, we will be preparing for the Pinewood Derby on January 23rd and are looking forward to our big race!  Our Pinewood Derby race will be held via livestream and available for viewing on Facebook and possibly on YouTube.  We are still working out the details as to which platforms the stream will be available on.

Pinewood Derby car kits are available for pick up at Brightway Insurance, The Doebbeling Agency.  We are located at the SW corner of Horsetooth and College in the Safeway shopping center.  Come by anytime between 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM to pick up your kit.  The kit is included with Pack Dues.

Pinewood Derby General Rules:

All cars must pass the following inspection to qualify for the race:

1. Width shall not exceed 2-3/4 inches.
2. Length shall not exceed 7 inches.
3. Weight shall not exceed 5 ounces.
4. Axles, wheels, and body shall be from the materials provided in the kit. Additional wheels can be purchased separately.
5. Wheel bearings, washers, and bushings are prohibited.
6. No lubricating oil may be used. Axles may be lubricated with powdered graphite or silicone.
7. The car shall not ride on any kind of spring.
8. The car must be free-wheeling, with no starting devices.
9. No loose materials of any kind are allowed in the car.

Pinewood Derby Check-in:  This will take place on January 21st between 4:30 - 6:30 PM at Brightway Insurance.  If cars need to be adjusted for weight, participants will be able to make those adjustments on site or bring their car back on Friday or by 9:00 AM on Saturday, the day of the race.

Pinewood Derby Race Day:  January 23, 2021 at 10:00 AM via livestream!
