Pinewood Derby information

Hi all,

Happy new year!  With the start of the new year, Cub Scouts begin looking forward to the Pinewood Derby.  This is one of the most exciting activities on the cub scout calendar and many scouts say its the best.

Pack 116 Pinewood Derby will be held January 25th, 2020 at Harmony Presbyterian Church.  There are a few changes this year, so please read through this and let me know if you have any questions.  

Weigh in will occur the morning of the race.  This is different than in previous years.  We will gain access to the church at 8 AM the morning of the race.  Weigh in will happen as soon as we get set up for that.  We will continue to set up the track, tables and all of the rest while that is occurring.  The plan is for racing to start at 10 AM.  Please plan to be there to be checked in before the race.  It will only take a few minutes to check in, as long as you pass the requirements.  Please come early to help us set up and get organized.  

Numbers have been preassigned for all scouts.  This is to ease the registration process.  When you go to check in, please have your number written on the car.  If the number messes up the "aesthetic", put it on the bottom of your car.  Once your car is checked in, it's hands off.

If you are wanting to sign up a sibling car (same rules as scouts) or an outlaw, please feel free to reach out to me and I will assign you a number, or numbers in advance.  You can pay the morning of the race.  Siblings are $6, outlaws are $20.  This includes a car.

All Den Leaders have a car for each Scout.  If you need additional cars for the siblings or outlaws, reach out to Robert and your den leader and we should be able to get it for you.
