Good Evening parents,
I. Our next pack meeting is Mon. 11/18/24. Topic is Citizenship.
II. One of our den leaders' son is working on his Eagle project and is collecting gently used reading and workbooks for elementary aged children. Scout family, if you have any sitting around your house, please bring them with you tomorrow night.
III. The scouts that came out to the Fire Station visit had fun and learned a lot. (Pics are in the groupme) Some takeaways: kids should know their address, know their parent's first and last name, close before you doze (close bedroom doors before sleeping to decrease chances of fires spreading from room to room), teach your kids what firefighters look like when in uniform, how to call 911, P.A.S.S.(pull, aim, squeeze, swing) fire extinguisher instructions, etc. If we have some time tomorrow we will have a few cubs draw pics and sign the thank you cards for the firefighters who gave us the presentation and tour.
IV. Thank you to all the parents that were able to participate in the Veteran's service at the church.
V. Join us as we team up with the Boy Scouts for our annual Holiday community service event. This year we will be partnering with C.H.O.I.C.E.S. again for their 8th Annual Thanksgiving Food Packing on Sat. 11/23/24 at 8am at Atlanta Metro College.
Please use this link to sign up. https://volunteer.handsonatlanta.org/registrations/Z7xw1Szpj8/claim_spot Parents you have to sign up once for yourself and again for each cub coming. Sign ups are used to keep track of the expected number of volunteers as well as a lunch count (lunch will be provided). The organization is asking that we be there on time to cut down on unnecessary traffic as this event is a food box drive up.
VI. Pack Meeting: Mon. 12/2/24 (last meeting of this semester)
VII. Save the date. MidYear Awards and Outing @Spocha/Round 1: Sat. 12/14/24 11am - 1pm. More details to come.
