Thanks for bring this to our attention. I'm gathering resources for Police,
EMT, Fire and Rescue, etc. Do your remember David Pecora mentioning the Red
Cross Rep. that is involved w/ our Council?

To refresh everyone's memory one of the requirements for the Emergency
Preparedness Award is to take the American Red Cross First Aid for Children
Today (FACT) course. Last year we had Orange County Sherriff dept setup the
Child Identification program. The scouts that participated in that program
will not earn credit for doing a similar program.

See the attached. BSA has a national agreement with the American Red
Cross to give BSA members a discounted rate for first aid and CPR
training. It sounds like it would be a lot cheaper then what we have
discussed in the past. Maybe we need to revisit this topic at a
committee meeting again if more of us are interested as a lower cost
training.
