This event will count as the June event (Day camp also counts) for
earning the summertime activity award. It will take place Saturday,
June 27th from 9:00 to 1:00 at Port Neches Park. There will be an
opportunity to enjoy the park as well as the splash area. Please bring
a picnic lunch, a bag of marbles, and lawn chairs or a blanket for
picnicing. We will be accomplishing some of the requirements to earn
the marbles beltloop, and will do a small service project of cleaning
up the park before we leave. I will go over the "leave no trace"
guidelines also. It will be very hot outside, so make sure you have
plenty of water and sunscreen, etc. for your children. Hope to see you
there.

Requirements for the Marbles Belt Loop

Complete these three requirements:

1. Explain the rules of Ringer or another marble game to your leader or adult partner.
2. Spend at least 30 minutes practicing skills to play the game of Ringer or another marble game.
3. Participate in a game of marbles.

I want to thank everyone that showed up and participated in our June
activity out at Port Neches Park/Tugboat Island. The scouts that
attended got a good start on their Marbles belt loops, which we hope
to finish up at our July activity/pack meeting. A good time was had
by all, in spite of the thermometer reading 109 degrees! Also,
participating families be sure to look in your scouts' handbooks and
sign off for having a family picnic.

Thanks again for making this event a success, and I hope to see even
more of you all at our July event!
