Franklin John Loughran, age 69, passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at his home in Kooskia, due to complications from surgery. Franklin loved Jesus Christ, and was at peace. He was looking forward to being healed and enjoying his 12 grandkids. Frank was born to John and Lillian (Silva) Loughran. His father later remarried to Helen Brown. Helen had a special place in Frank's heart. Frank married Donna Donnelly in 1965 in Monterey, Calif. They were happily married for 49 years. They made their home for the past 40 years in Kooskia. He was most proud of his 49 years of marriage to Donna and four children who have blessed him with 12 grandchildren. Frank graduated from Pacific Grove High School in 1963, and was then drafted into the U.S. Army and was originally stationed in Mannheim, Germany. He toured 12 countries with Donna while stationed overseas. After he returned home, he attended Lewis-Clark State College and graduated with a degree in auto mechanics. He was also a policeman and was part of the riot and rescue squad at the Monterey Sheriff's Department, and while living in Pacific Grove he worked as a fireman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, antique collecting, yard sales, reading, old cars, the outdoors and most of all his family. He enjoyed various projects, building sheds and houses for family and friends. He purchased a Woodmizner Saw Mill and put out some fine lumber for family and friends. He started Ida-Glow Antler Chandelier and was very proud of his artistic accomplishments and holds four patents for various inventions. He was a very generous man with his tools, knowledge, gifts and passions. Frank was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Bennett; stepmom Helen Loughran; and sister Jacquline Shannon. Frank is survived by his wife, Donna of Kooskia; his dad, John Loughran of Lewiston; his sons, Chad and wife Mandie Loughran of Weiser, Idaho, and Jason and wife Dawn Loughran of Kooskia; his daughters, Lisa and husband Mike Dominguez of Kooskia, and Molly O'Loughran and husband Rod; brothers Tom Loughran, Ed Brown and Richard Brown; sisters Linda Lasko and Tammy Bennett; and grandchildren Matthew, Erienne, Mariah, Shane, Trea, Morgan, Ty, Johny, Tristin, Angel, Tatiana and Tug. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Life Center, 4432 U.S. Highway 12, Kamiah. Immediately following the memorial, there will be a covered-dish dinner at Valley View Nazarene Church for everyone. Frank Loughran was loved by many, will be missed greatly and will never be forgotten
