Dear Jean: After 45 years I am sorry to say I can remember the names,
but not the faces, of which I'm sure most of us have changed one way
or another. I sold our ranch in Alanrred, Texas, and moved to
Stillwater, Oklahoma (my daughter and I) after my husband died three
years ago. I have a son here, who is a Prof. Of Agriculture at OSU, and
his wife is an R.n. They have three children, whom I really enjoy now
that I am here. It was just too lonesome in the country after I lost
Jess. This is a beautiful friendly place and we like it real well. I
will be unable to come out there the last of Sept. as I am working part
time to be busy. Thank you for remembering me and maybe some day I'll
get back. With Best Regards, Betty Myers Finley.

Letter from Tom Stockton to Dee Litch, dated Sept. 19, 1974
Dear Dolores: It was wonderful to hear from yo and I wish I could join
you for the October bash. White it is out fo the question for this
year, perhaps I will be able to make the next one. Since we (my wife of
25 years, Wootsie, and I) own property on the 7th fairway of the Carmel
Valley Golf CC, we may be neighbors. Our current plans are to retire
from the Army in June of 1979, and settle in Texas or Carmel Valley -
perhaps both. The 33 years since I left Pacific Grove in October 1941
have been fairly full. They include three other high schools, four
universities, nine years in Europe, four in the Far East, and five
years in Washington, D.C. We have one son, Corky, who graduated from
Colorado State University, and is now after his masters in speech
therapy at North Texas University. Your letter caused me to dig out my
1941 Sea Urchin and I thank you for the pleasure that gave me. Our
classmates that I remember best are Art Shoemaker, Grant Harris, Henry
McCord, Don Cornell, Jim Appelgate, Phil Merritt, Paul Berwick, Joy
Sylvester, Pauly Pulliam, Barbra Williams and Huffy Hufford. I have
seen none of them in 1/3 of a century and they wouldn't remember a
guy who left 6 weeks into the sophomore year, but if you run into any
of them say "Hello" for me. We are enjoying Naples, where I am in
the NATO Headquarters for Southern Europe. The people working for me
are Italian, British and American, with army, navy and air force
included. It makes an interesting challenge. We are very fortunate to
have found a fantastic place to live in Naples. From our balcony, we
enjoy a breathtaking view of the Bay of Naples, including downtown
Naples, Mt. Vesuvius, the Sorrento Peninsula and Capri. We find it hard
to leave the balcony even to go to work. Thanks very much for including
me with the Class of 1944 from PGHS. Art "The Shoe" did a great job
of tracking me down and I thank him for that. Have a great time on the
5th of October. We'll make it in 1979, if not before. As Ever, Tom
Stockton.
