Barbara Jean Burns Turner August 13, 1930 ~ May 13, 2015 Seaside - It is with heavy hearts we have lost our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. Barbara was called to Heaven peacefully on May 13, 2015 to be reunited with her loved ones who preceded her: James C. "Bud" Turner (husband); James M. Turner and Robert W. Turner (sons); Sarah Corson (sister); William Burns and Thomas Burns (brothers). Born the eldest of five children to William and Madeline Burns at the Presidio of Monterey while her father was in the US Army, the family moved around a few times but the Monterey Peninsula was always home and, after a while, William settled them here permanently. After raising her family, Barbara had a career with Bank of America for 18 years. She had a love of the beach and enjoyed walks on it whenever possible or just sitting on the sand listening to the ocean. Barbara leaves behind her daughter, Jacolyn (Frank) Deniz of Seaside; grandchildren, Frank J Deniz IV of Marina, Cassandra Deniz of Marina and Crystal Deniz of Seaside and five great-grandchildren; her brother, Edward Burns of South Lake Tahoe and numerous nieces and nephews. At her request, no services are planned. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Pacific Grove Convalescent Hospital for their care and compassion.
