Mrs. Helen Mae Wills, 43, a well known resident of Pacific Grove for nearly all her life, died Sunday night in a San Francisco hospital. Her death was unexpected and followed a brief illness. Mrs. Wills was a member of the Monterey Civic Club and the Community Center Auxiliary and had been an active volunteer worker for both the Peninsula Community Chest and the Red Cross Blood Bank. She was born Dec. 24, 1915, in McDole, Calif., and accompanied her parents, Mr.  & Mrs. Charles Hufford, to Pacific Grove as a child. She was graduated from both the Pacific Grove Elementary School and Pacific Grove High School. Her marriage to Carl Wills took place March 7, 1936, in Reno, Nev. In addition to her husband and parents, she leaves two sons, William Carl and John Dewey Wills of Pacific Grove; two brothers, Henry Hufford of Hayward and Emmerson Hufford of Pacific Grove; and two sisters, Mrs. Robert Beach and Mrs. Jack Stutzman of Pacific Grove. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Dorney & Farlinger Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lee Sadler officiating. Burial will follow in El Carmelo Cemetery.
