June 28, 1933 - April 16, 2018 Pacific Grove / Charles Earl Shinaut, 84, passed away on 4/16/18. He was born in Central City, Nebraska on 6/28/1933. Charles lived in Pacific Grove most of his life. He graduated from Pacific Grove High school in 1951. He was a very good basketball player in high school and won numerous awards for his athletic abilities. He served in the Marine Corps in 1955 in San Francisco and honorably discharged in 1961. He worked at the Pacific Grove post office for 36 years and retired. He then worked as a caregiver for several years. He was a longtime volunteer at the AT&T golf tournament. He loved the Giants, 49ers, and the Golden State Warriors. He also enjoyed camping and fishing. Charles is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years Geneil Shinaut who passed away in 2001. Mr. Shinaut is survived by his 2 daughters Barbara Tovey of Seaside, Judy Bispo of Palo Colorado and son Charles Shinaut of Pacific Grove, 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
