Fred Monroe Anderson, 58, a retired pipe fitter, died Saturday at
Hospice House. He was born May 22, 1944, in Columbus, Kan., and lived
in Pacific Grove for most of his life. Mr. Anderson attended local
Pacific Grove elementary schools and graduated from Pacific Grove High
School. He was a pipe fitter for 40 years, retiring from Granite
Construction after 27 years. He was a member of Laborer's International
Union of North America. Mr. Anderson was an outdoorsman who enjoyed
hunting. His interest in hunting led him to his membership in the
National Rifle Association. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast who
rode Harley-Davidsons for 40 years. Mr. Anderson loved animals, and he
raised and showed AKC registered Airedales. He is survived by three
brothers, Ed Goldstein of Pacific Grove, Gary Anderson of Bakersfield
and Chuck Anderson of Joplin, Mo.; a sister, Mary Ellen T. Hart of
Palestine, Texas; three nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life
will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Paul Mortuary. The family suggests that any

Barbara Lee Brown died Friday at her home. She was 53. Born July 23,
1946, she had lived in Monterey County all her life. She attended
Pacific Grove High School and worked for Rapid Printers in Monterey.
She loved fine cars and attending auto rallies with her father. She
also enjoyed stained glass making, shopping on QVC and collecting
jewelry. She is survived by her father, George Brown of Pacific Grove;
three cousins, Penny Stevens of Los Angeles, Maureen Brown of
Burlingame and Debi Brown of Gilroy; and an uncle, John Brown of San
Jose. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Paul

William Charles Perry, 49, of Arroyo Seco, died of cancer Monday at his
home. Born Aug 17, 1945, in Honolulu, he had lived in Cachagua, Arroyo
Seco and Pacific Grove since 1957. Mr. Perry was a 1964 graduate of
Pacific Grove High School and a self-employed woodcutter. He was
instrumental in the development of the Cachagua Community Center and
was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, horses and
motorcycles. He is survived by his wife, Nan; his father, William of
Pacific Grove; a brother, Kurt of Salinas; and three sisters, Patti
Willey of Salinas, Suzanne Lorente of San Jose and Charlynne Herman of

Courtland Max Sorenson Jr., 54, an auto salvage dealer, died of a heart
attack March 13 in Norwood, Mo. He was born Oct. 29, 1946, in Pacific
Grove, and lived on the Peninsula for 40 years before moving to Norwood
in 1996. Mr. Sorenson graduated from Pacific Grove High School in 1964.
He worked at the family-owned Trading Post in Castroville for several
years and later became an auto salvage dealer. He is survived by his
wife, Sandra, of Henderson, Nev.; two sons, Chris Sorenson of Seaside
and C.J. Sorenson of Sacramento; three daughters, Tammy Peyton and
Christina Wallace, both of Henderson, Nev., and Christy Sorenson of
Sacramento; three brothers, Richard Solget of Florida, Jay Mead of
Arizona and Gary Sorenson of Castroville; and two sisters, Gayle
Cameron of Watsonville and Michelle Meusburger of Turlock. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Elaine and Courtland Sorenson Sr.;

Very sadly on March 18, 2004, beloved Carlos Augusto Tueros, age 58,
peacefully passed on at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, after a
lengthy pulmonary illness. Born in Lima, Peru on June 15, 1945, Carlos
and his family came to the United States in 1952, settling first in San
Francisco. The Tueros family discovered the Monterey Peninsula and soon
made it their home. Carlos attended Pacific Grove and Monterey schools,
graduating in 1964 from Monterey High and attending M.P.C. Realizing
his keen eye for fashion and retail sales, he joined an esteemed
program of achievement with Roos-Atkins and Hastings. He was an
excellent salesman and was hailed as one of the best. This quality took
him down many paths... joining his best friend, and brother, Manuel
Tueros at his car agency in Los Angeles. For all who knew Carlos will
recall his kindness, his gentility and his absolutely wonderful sense
of humor. Later in his adult life he moved to Seattle, where he lived
until his demise. He had become a voracious reader seeking truth. "I
prefer to be a dreamer among those without dreams and desires." Though
he never married, he loved very deeply and enjoyed several long term
relationships. He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted and beloved
sister, Grace Tueros Ashby; brother-in-law, William Ashby; his brother,
Manuel Tueros; sister-in-law, Barbara of Phoenix, Arizona; adored
nieces, Stefanie Ashby of New York City, Vicki Michaelis of San Diego;
and nephew, Sheldon Tueros of Phoenix; aunts, Victoria King of San
Francisco and Lucy Vargas of Lima, Peru; and many cousins in San
Francisco and Peru. Carlos is preceded in death by his parents, Grace
and Manuel Tueros, and his grandmother, Carolina King. At his request,
he chose a private, family gathering and his ashes scattered at sea,

Dennis Charles Williams, 56, died March 4 in Pescadero. He was born
June 13, 1946, in Pacific Grove and had been a resident of Sunnyvale
for 35 years. He frequently visited Pacific Grove to be with his
mother, Mary Williams. Mr. Williams worked as a human-resources manager
in the Sunnyvale area. He was a volunteer for Sunnyvale's compensation
review board. He enjoyed spending time with people, especially
children. He was a devoted father, grandfather and uncle. After
graduating from San Jose State University, he was employed by the Santa
Clara County Children's Center. He had recently been certified as a
child advocate in Santa Clara County and was looking forward to helping
at-risk children. Mr. Williams loved classic cars, electronics and
tools of all kinds. He was passionate about jazz, history, chocolate
and zinfandel. He loved to roughhouse, tease and tell jokes. He is
survived by his mother, Mary Williams of Pacific Grove; a son, Paul C.
Williams of Sacramento; a daughter, Emily A. Williams of Sunnyvale; a
brother, Neil A. Williams of Los Gatos; a sister, Lucy Moore of
Madison, Wis.; and two grandchildren. Memorial services will be Friday
at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church of Pacific Grove. Inurnment

Dennis Charles Williams -- passed away unexpectedly in Sunnyvale. He
was a native of Pacific Grove, born June 13, 1946. He was 56. He has
been a resident of Sunnyvale for 35 years. He had been a manager of
human resources for several high tech. firms in the Silicon Valley for
30 years. He was also a volunteer for the city of Sunnyvale on the
Compensation Review Board. Dennis enjoyed people of all ages,
especially children. He was a devoted and fun-filled father,
