SAVE THE DATE: PERS 2015 is (finally) in Seattle, March 19-21

PERS 2015 will convene at the Talaris Conference Center (http://www.talarisconferencecenter.com/) near the University of Washington campus and the University Village. Talaris is an exquisite, serene setting somewhat removed from the area’s commercial district. The program will foster the best in research presentations and discussions, as at other PERS meetings. Registration and an evening social will begin on Thursday, scientific program will run all day Friday followed by a banquet dinner, and the final scientific program on Saturday morning will end at noon with lunch provided. Thursday evening, 3/19, social is tentatively planned to be hosted at the UW’s School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences on the southwest corner of the UW campus. The remainder of the meeting will be held at Talaris. Your registration will cover continental breakfasts and lunches and the banquet on Friday evening, 3/20. We have reserved all of the 31 rooms at Talaris at the Seattle government per diem rate, and those will be on a first-come, first-reserved basis. There are several other housing alternatives at “not too bad a walk” from Talaris for those who don’t reserve at Talaris in time or prefer off-site housing (see below). There is ample, no-cost parking at Talaris.

The website ( www.pers-erf.org )  will also also provide info on how to arrange housing at Talaris or alternative accommodations.  We will also provide additional info on the website regarding all aspects of the meeting as we continue to get all the details.

Tentative cost for registration is: Professional - $180.00

                                    Non-Member: $ 225.00

                                    Student: $ 90.00

Please note: In recent years we have cut back dramatically on food provided during the meeting to keep the registration cost down, this includes the mixer, the banquet, breakfasts, and lunches as well as coffee breaks.  So you will be well fed during your stay.

Staying at the Talaris will mean you can just relax and enjoy yourself, no foraging, waiting in lines, or scurrying out for lunch and trying to get back before the next session.

Be sure to call them to make your reservation and let them know you are a part of the PERS block.  That way you get the correct rate and we get the credit for the reservation.

Talaris's number is: 206-268-7000

There will be another message when registration opens.
