Just to show you guys what you missed by not coming to class. The phone videos are on Google Photos because they auto-sync, had to upload the GoPro video. There's more GoPro footage, I just need to process it.

Finally sitting down to get sparring gear. In terms of gloves, I know some people have the Red Dragon HEMA gloves and others are using lacrosse gloves. What gives the most dexterity?

I'd guess the Red Dragons, I haven't tried the lacrosse gloves yet, but I'd expect the HEMA ones to be better. I'm being very lazy about measuring my hand for fitting, but I think I'm gonna order these extra fancy ones that are supposed to give the best dexterity and lots of protection (I've seen videos of them being used and tested for sparring w/ metal weapons). But they're like $270 or something w/ shipping, which is significantly more than the ~30 for lacrosse or ~90 for Red Dragon.

Yeah I've been pretty happy with the Red Dragon gloves. The only thing I might add are fingertip protectors for my pointer fingers.

Related; I've been thinking about buying a bunch more things from Purple Heart Armory (additional safety gear and a dadao trainer) so if anyone wants anything we should batch together the order.
