NDA in partnership with 360training.com is providing our members with access to in-depth online training on a variety of demolition and construction topics including the OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 courses. Our comprehensive course library covers a wide range of safety and general industry topics and provides on-demand learning opportunities accessible to the end-use 24/7. Our online training program offers two unique opportunities:
Interested in the Foundations of Demolition Management courses? NDA is giving you a preview of the four courses that make up the Foundations of Demolition Management Series. Please note: the webinar does not count as credit towards the certificate.
The National Demolition Association (NDA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have worked together to ensure best demolition practices are being followed at jobsites across the U.S. The effort culminated into demolition-specific training by NDA for OSHA compliance safety and health officers (CSHOs). The videos are part of a four part series. Topics include engineering survey, health hazards and safety protocols in fall protection and robotics. We invite you to review the videos for the latest in demolition best practices.
The online Demolition Hazards for Construction course trains construction workers to recognize the hazards of demolition work and practice hazard mitigation controls. This training is ideal for any worker, supervisor or contractor who may be exposed to hazards while performing demolition work.
Once you finish the course and pass a brief test on the core topics, you can immediately download your Certificate of Completion. The Demolition Hazards for Construction course takes about 1 hour to complete.
In this training, students will learn the basics of demolition safety in the workplace, as well as best practices for common tools and strategies used in demolition work. The topics presented are based on OSHA's demolition standard for the construction industry, OSHA CFR 1926, Subpart T.
When you complete the course, you will be prompted to take a 20-question final exam on what you have learned. If you do not pass your exam on the first attempt, you can retake it until you get a passing score of 70% or higher.
The goal of this course is to teach construction workers about the hazards they face during demolition work. Students will also learn about hazard mitigation controls and personal protective equipment (PPE).
The Demolition Hazards for Construction course is divided into four learning modules that cover a variety of demolition hazards, including building and site hazards, fall hazards, equipment and utility hazards, and environmental hazards. You can find a full outline of each module below.
Regulations require that notification be made to the Department of State Health Services before beginning renovation projects which include the disturbance of any asbestos-containing material (ACM) in a building or facility or before the demolition of a building or facility, even when no asbestos is present.
The notification must be made whether you are notifying in accordance with NESHAP, TAHPR, or both. The department shall be notified using the Online Asbestos Notification System or by mailing the Asbestos Abatement/Demolition Notification Form to the department. Notification shall be made no less than 10 working days (not calendar days) prior to the start of demolition or asbestos abatement activity or any other activity that will disturb asbestos (except for emergencies or ordered demolitions). Notifications which do not meet the 10-day requirement or are incomplete are considered to be "improper" and may result in enforcement proceedings.

Please review the information and links below to learn more about the ePermits process and it requirements. You can view videos on how to process ePermits and download step-by-step guides at -pro-workshop-series. You can email your questions to DHCD.P...@baltimorecity.gov or call 443-984-1809 for assistance.
To begin processing an application you will need the full scope of the work to be done, the contractor's name and license number, and PDF versions of any required drawings/sketches or construction plans.
NOTE: All electrical, gas, HVAC&R, and plumbing work requires a licensed contractor. Contractors used for construction work on 1-and 2-family dwellings must have a Maryland Home Improvement (MHIC) license.
Licensed contractors: Licensed contractors must be registered in the ePermits database in order to be added to a permit. You will need an ePermits access code that is provided by staff in order to register your license. You will need your contractor license and a valid photo ID to receive the ePermits access code. Please note that we only provide the ePermit access code to the license holder. To request license registration, please send an email or call 443-984-1809 for assistance.
Applicants using contractors: Before you can use a contractor to complete work on your permit, the contractor must first sign up to use the ePermits system and register their license (see above). Please have your contractor's name and license number available when you apply.
Message board: To enhance electronic communications, we have created a message board feature in the ePermits system. You will receive an email if a permit processor has posted a message for you to view. You will then log into your account to respond. You can attach any requested documents to your message. All documents uploaded to the ePermits system must be in PDF format. You can also initiate a message or ask a question about your permit through the message board.
Payment: You will need to pay your permit fees through the online system or at the One-Stop Shop Permit Center before your permit can be issued. Payments made online by check are free; payments made by credit card are subject to a small fee. Once payment is made you will receive your permit via email.
All permits must have a final inspection before a Certificate of Occupancy can be issued. All inspections can now be scheduled online, following the prompts once you log into your account. Customers can also call the QuickTrac system (443-984-2776) 24 hours a day to schedule permit inspections via phone.
