HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Former President Donald Trump returned to
Pennsylvania on Friday night to speak at the annual gathering of
National Rifle Association members and visitors at the Great
American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg.

“Your second amendment will always be safe with me,” said Trump in
his opening remarks.

Trump touted his victories in Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada, as
well as his standings in the Republican primary polls. He said he
would head to South Carolina after the event in Harrisburg.

Trump incorrectly proclaimed he won Pennsylvania twice, however, he
lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden. He also proclaimed that those
coming over the border were coming from “prisons” and “mental
institutions.”

The Pennsylvania Democratic Party reacted to Trump’s planned remarks
with a statement on Friday night.

“Every single time Donald Trump opens his mouth, he’s confused,
deranged, lying, or worse. Tonight, he lied more than two dozen
times, slurred his words, confused basic facts, and placated the gun
lobby weeks after telling parents to “get over it” after their kids
were gunned down at school. But you won’t hear about any of it if
you watch cable news, read this weekend’s papers, or watch the
Sunday shows. Beltway reporters may be numb to Trump’s horrifying
candidacy defined by chaos, division, and violence — but the
American people are the ones who will suffer and die if he’s allowed
anywhere near the Oval Office again.”

According to the PA Farm Show Complex, the Large Arena has 8,000
square feet on the floor with 7,318 seats. Thousands could be seen
packing the arena with crowds in line hours before the event began.

Seating inside the Large Arena for the Presidential Forum was first
come, first serve.

The speech comes on the heels of the U.S. Supreme Court hearing
arguments over whether Trump can remain on Colorado’s ballot after
voters sued over his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
