The candidate will understand the business requirements, determine
system
design considerations, document technical design, prepare work
estimates, and perform software development activities. The
successful candidate will independently solve complex technical
problems, will be involved in problem resolution (i.e. 24x7 web
applications) and will provide off hour support. Pager support on a
rotational basis is required. The incumbent must be highly organized
with excellent strong analytical, problem solving, presentation, and
decision making skills. The candidate must also demonstrate strong
communication skills and be able to interface with all levels of
business and technology partners.


The hours follow a basic workweek, but also require some tailoring to
the needs of your internal clients. In a typical day, your internal
clients will call upon you for both tactical and long-term support,
drawing upon your technical knowledge and business savvy. No two days
will be alike, and PNC's commitment to technology leadership means
your skills will stay razor sharp. Working with priorities jointly
set
by your business group and the IT organization, you'll enjoy
significant access and exposure to senior bankers at PNC, while
working in a familiar IT-intensive culture and a state-of-the-
industry
facility.


The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:


-Bachelor's degree in Information Systems is preferred.
-7 to 10 years of experience in the design, development and
deployment
of n-tier enterprise applications using Java and J2EE utilizing
technologies such as JSP and JDBC.
-Working knowledge of HTML and XML, Web Services is preferred.
-Experience in Systems Development Life Cycle is required.
-Experience with the following is preferred: WebSphere, IRAD, Linux,
MQ Series, and Ant.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Initiative, leadership, and proven ability to work in a team is
required
