Hi folks,

My name is Erica, based in Philly, and I have been a big fan of PA Women's Cycling for a while now. Even though I've never worked up the courage to race, I have been in the google group for over 1.5 years and have enjoyed seeing a group dedicated to women in what sometimes feels like a male-dominated cycling world. Eventually, I would love to get more involved with the group on my actual wheels. I have only just moved away from bike commuting into more of a touring situation. Actually, I plan on biking cross country this summer.

Starting in mid-June, I will be taking a little more than two-months to bike across the United States. I will be doing this with a nonprofit C(3) called Bike & Build, who both raises money for and spreads awareness of affordable housing efforts through fund-raising cycling trips all over the country. (Think Habitat for Humanity, on wheels.) In a group of 34, we will bike from one build site to the next, putting up houses all across the U.S. The route I am taking starts in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and ends in Vancouver, British Columbia, totaling 3757 miles.

There is a growing gap between household income & housing costs for many Americans. This crisis affects more than 13 million families today and the numbers are on the rise everyday. My goal is to raise $4,500 for affordable housing organizations to help fix this problem.

As a way of fundraising to reach this goal, I am selling tea off my site, ericarosset.com, and am bike courier-style delivering the tea in and around the Philadelphia area. (This is helping me reach my 500 mile cycling goal before the start of my trip!) The tea is from a small Pennsylvania-based tea company, Whisk & Spoon, and the tea is PA-preferred, organic, healthy and IMHO delicious. The tea costs as little as $2, and every little bit helps!

I do hope you will check out my site, and pass it along to others you know who love cycling and/or tea and/or good causes.

Here is more info about the nonprofit: http://bikeandbuild.org/
Here is a little more about me and my motivations: http://bikeandbuild.org/rider/5612

And here is a direct link to my tea fundraiser: http://ericarosset.com/bb/tea-fundraiser/

Please, let me know if you have any questions, or words of wisdom! I am also still trying to pick out a solid lady saddle, so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks!

-Erica

The rooibos is tempting ... need to hit the sack, but I will peruse soon. I've also posted the tea website to my fb page - hopefully it will tempt some of my friends!

Best of luck,
- Sophia

Erica,
I commend you on your commitment to making a difference to those in need.  I would like to offer to do custom cycle clothing to support and promote your cause at our charity price (cost).
We have no minimums so you can order as little as 1 kit.
I will of course order some tea from you although I am a total coffee lover!
If your interested please feel free to email or call.  If not i wish you the best and see you on the delivery.

Cheers mate!
