bee entering student's house

A student in one of my classes has bees entering her house - she thinks they are in the ground below some floor boards.

She was hoping for advice on what to do & I was also hoping to get a tentative ID (if possible - I know the picture below is dark).  I'll try to get her to collect one for me with all the metadata.

I am in no way proficient at id’s, but those fuzzy legs look like a Melissodes to me.

Possibly thistle specialist Melissodes desponsus, common species, active now, has the brown-colored back legs, just a guess... https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/627202-Melissodes-desponsus
