Hi all,

I know we have some people in this group who aren’t Master Gardeners, so you can disregard, other than to see the great work done by this group.

Master Gardeners:

  1. Please be sure to enter all time that you spend with this group into Connect.

  1. Enter all hours in the category:  Grant Projects – Bee Monitoring

Including:

  • Speaking, educating for public talks, including time spent researching and building your presentation
  • All field work, collecting specimens (including drive time)
  • Processing specimens
  • In-person or online training sessions or meetings (this could be counted as CE, but I would really like to capture it in the Grant Projects – bee monitoring category so that all things bee group-related can be captured in one place.)

  1. Please be as descriptive as you can when entering your “activity name.”  Take a look at the spreadsheet for some examples of activity names.  Some are very descriptive – that is what we would like.

I am attaching a spreadsheet that I pulled from Salesforce, which contains our total time entered into Connect.  You may notice there is not much time entered for educating the public.  I know many of you have spent considerable time educating the public.  If you have speaking hours that you have not entered into Connect or placed in a different category, please send me a total if you can easily determine it. Even a rough estimate is sufficient.

If you have any questions or are unsure about anything, please let me know.

Lastly, look at the total (over 5,000 hours, but I’m sure it’s more)!!!   Y’all have done some seriously great work in this group.  I love our bee group.

Thanks,

Val
