Howdy yall,

We have an update about our plans for the Bee Monitoring Program in 2026. First off, we are planning to continue to do more collections around the state in 2026. One reason for that is that we were awarded 2 grants to help fund bee monitoring efforts for the next few years, which is great news!  These grants have some new goals. Instead of funding a general state-wide bee monitoring effort they have a focus on studying plant-bee interactions on rare plants, and bee communities at specific sites around the state which are home to rare plants. We will be working out plans on logistics for this new focus for our collections over the next few months, so stay tuned for more information on that.

To help us get those plans rolling, could everyone that did collections in 2025 please fill out this survey:

Thanks,

Nash

I’m excited for a new challenge next year.   As far as the dates for the meeting, April 4 is the day before Easter … not sure how many would be available that day.

Hi Tony,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I was thinking the same thing.

Do people have a preference for Saturday over Sunday? If you prefer Saturday, please reply to this email!

Thanks in advance, and my apologies for all the emails!

Hi Margarita, Nash,

Regarding the meeting date selection, I noticed from the survey that April 12 is a Sunday.

I thought I questioned the ' Sunday' ( but apparently I didn’t), as scheduling any kind of group meeting on a Sunday is quite rare. I'm OK if it is on a Sunday. Just wanting to make sure.

While obviously it looks to be a one day meeting - any kind of allowances for long distance folks coming in the night before?
