Howdy folks,
I'm hoping we can collect bees off of a rare plant in PA called Virginia Mallow (Ripariosida hermaphrodita). This is a species that DCNR was very interested in learning more about, especially what might be pollinating them. It should be flowering in August.
It appears to only be found in a few places, see the iNaturalist page:
The best spots are near Raystown Lake in Huntingdon County, I'm going to try to do some collections there. If anyone else might be able to visit that area let me know and I can send you some specific locations and some people we need to let know about any visits.
Based on iNat there may also be some Montgomery County but unfortunately I don't have any recent confirmation of any populations...
