According to this oil and gas investment broker, hydro-fracking IS a threat to the environment and our water supply, and investors in the industry know it.

This report is about 20 minutes in length. It clearly states that hydro-fracking is dangerous, and that there is a more efficient, more environmentally safe, alternative means of extracting natural gas from shale. Whether this petro-fracking process is really safer, I have no idea, but that is the claim. It also claims that 100% of the perto-fluids used are recovered, recycled, and reused. Mostn importantly, it takes the water consumption out of the equation.

I'm still against this massive industrialization, but this is something we maybe able to use to counter the industry claim that hydro-fracking is not a threat to the environment.

If anyone has more information on petro-fracking, please forward it to me.

This is well worth a listen, and something that at least needs to be addressed.

Hold on, folks! I am hardly endorsing this, and no, I don't think this is a good idea and would fight this as I'm trying to fight hydro-fracking.

I was simply pointing out, that there are those who in promoting petro-fracking, are ponting out the dangers of hysro-fracking and that is something we might want to use against the industry in general, that there are those involved who admit hydro-fracking is not safe.

So, understand the context in which I was pointing this out. If using water isn't safe, using petroleum would be worse.

I'm calling BS on this on SO many levels. <deep breath>

First, it is the fracking process, not the medium or method used, that allows the gas to migrate into other zones. If you don't believe that, please go to my blog, scroll down a few posts and find the one that says, "Natural gas migrates through fractures" or something like that.

Second, are we really talking about pumping "petroleum products" into the ground and letting these reckless operators spill and dump that everywhere?  Please say it isn't so. How are "petroleum products" less toxic than...petroleum products? At least most of the current fracking fluid is water and sand.

This is very scary.

We need to forget about shale drilling and move to clean renewable energy.
