problems with P4A and Plone 3.1x

is anyone having 5 issues and the p4a components? I am also testing plone.app.blob.  Whenever i register ZCML slugs with p4a, all hell breaks loose and my site is obliterated. 

I am not a coder, but it looks like five.customerize etc. is mucking things up. Also i think there are issues with plone4artists interfaces, because when I managed to get things to work, when I uploaded a file, subtyper did not work. but by adding p4a interfaces I got things to work and the player loaded.
