Hi all,

I've installed the p4a plone calendar product (p4a.plonecalendar
2.0a5, Chronos 0.6.2) on my dev server for evaluation and testing
(Plone 3.3.1, Zope 2.10.9, python 2.4.6 on RHEL 5.4).

I can't find any interface for configuring or using the color coding
feature. There is a reference on some of the p4a.plonecalendar web
pages about using the Actions menu of a folder to configure the
calendar; however, my site's Actions menu doesn't have any
calendar-related items in it even after using the Sub-types menu to
activate the calendar in a folder.

Any tips? I have been using the Keywords feature on my event items and
it would be nice to be able to color code them. Thanks!

I wasn't aware there was one. Somebody submitted a patch to show
different colours for different workflow states, but I haven't had
time to look at that yet.

Hi Lennart,

Thanks for the response. Here's what I am talking about:

"Color coding by event type
Events can be color coded based on what event type (keyword) they
have been assigned."

From these two pages:
http://plone.org/products/plone4artistscalendar
http://dev.plone4artists.org/pm/p/plone4artists/wiki/Plone4ArtistsCalendar

Is this feature removed from the 2.x series, or was it never actually
implemented even in the 1.x series?

Also on those pages:
"Basic Usage
* folders and smart folders can be toggled to be calendar enhanced
(become calendars) by selecting the configure calendar menu item in
their respective actions drop down menu's."

It doesn't seem to work this way on my site so I'm not sure if I have
an error or if the above is mistaken.

Dear Rick,

It's been a while since I played with p4aCal, but it seemed to me the
(only?) way to customizing color-coding was to change p4aCal's default
css classes for the keywords, or add new css classes if you are using
different keywords.

I don't remember if it was implemented in 1.x.
The views in 2.x is completely new, so if it was implemented in 1.x it
would have disappeared anyway.

It would be really nice to be able to finish it, but calendars is one
of these features that everybody wants, but nobody is willing to fund
development for.

Maybe we could try another chipin.com funddrive to finish up some of
the remaining features:
- recurring events
- iCal import/export
- color coding

What do you say?
