Plone4ArtistsCalendars main module p4a.plonecalendar. It's sole
feature is that p4a.ploneevent is no longer required. This means that
p4a.ploneevent will no longer be automatically installed when
p4a.plonecalendar is installed.
The reason for this is to make it easier to provide alternative
recurrence implementations, such as the one developed by Andreas Jung
recently, and the one that will be developed for Plone 4. (Both based
on the experiences of p4a.ploneevent).
NB! To all users! This means that if you are using a buildout (and you
probably are) and have recurring events in your site, they will stop
being recurring until you also install p4a.ploneevent.
The fix is easy: Anywhere in your buildout that you have a line that
says p4a.plonecalendar also add another line saying p4a.ploneevent,
then rerun buildout.

I've installed and tested without p4a.event in my buildout, and I've
tested everything (I think), including translating a calendar and an
event into spanish, except iCal stuff.
I'm happy it's error free enough for my uses, I'll do some more
testing (iCal, installing and uninstalling p4a.event etc) when I have
a bit more time.
