Actions:
- Jos: We will ask cal5k permission to use the wiki he set up a
couple of days ago.
- Arjun: We will synchronise meetings through google calendar so
that we don't mix up timezones.
- All: The wiki will contain a page with our basic info: name,
github page for SICP code, blog... anything else you want to add.
Decisions:
- We will meet twice a week, on Tuesdays and Sundays at 7pm GMT. to
discuss materials and look for help if needed. Meetings are in #sicp
on freenode irc.
- Pace: we will try to complete one section every two weeks (Chapter
one has 3 sections, so should be done in 6 weeks). We will re-evaluate
the pace as we go along (it gets tougher!!!)
We are using different Scheme dialects and we should be fine until we
hit problems. Mit scheme was suggested by weinsteinraun as the best
bet if you have not committed to anything yet.
The htdp book was mentioned too: http://www.htdp.org/
cal5k aka Dustin logged in about 5 minutes after the meeting finished
and he is happy with us using the wiki so you will just have to
request access and he will grant it. I will post this stuff there as
soon as I get in!
Thanks to all for coming and anything that you want to discuss, please
open a thread here. See you on Sunday!
cheers,
Jos
1. Dustin will be happy to accept requests to join the wiki at:
http://sicpgroup.pbworks.com
2. Arjun has already sent invitations for the next meeting to everyone
in this group (next Sunday).
3. I have created a page in the wiki for participants. Please add your
name, your github repo for SICP, and your blog here:
http://sicpgroup.pbworks.com/w/page/41311315/Participants
cheers,
Jos
In any case, the meeting is at 7pm GMT, 3pm EST, freenode #sicp.
Please note that some areas are in daylight saving time. Last Tuesday
I got the times wrong cause of that! :)
cheers,
Jos
I imported it via google calendar and google calendar treats it as
being part of Arjans calendar (not my personal calendar) so it doesn't
sync with outlook if you use the google calendar sync tool (dunno
about exchange).
I opened the ICS file (rather than accepting the invite) and that got
added to my personal calendar so it now syncs.
