Dear P2PU research team,

I'm a research scientist at Georgia Tech's Center for the 21st century
universities. I am currently working on an open course evaluation and
recommendation project. The main idea is to find the most appropriate
open course that meets a student's request based on the course's
ratings from other students and social relationships among the
students. For example, we assume a student will trust a friend's
rating more than others', or trust someone who the student has talked
to before.

One key step of this project is to collect students' ratings on
different open courses and study the students' relationships in a
learning community. In other words, I'm looking at how learning
communities can feedback into the open course development. Since P2PU
as a very large group of active online users, I am wondering if I can
use your user bases to collect students' ratings on online course
materials.

Thank you!

Hey Hua:

Can you give us a little more context (what is the audience for the
study - is this for a degree or part of a funded study) and be a
little more specific on what your research questions are and how you
intend to address them.

What other communities are you looking at? I assume all data and
results would be openly licensed ;-)
