1. As always, I very much enjoyed learning how other people look at mathematics. I liked very much the interactivity with the home schooler I had.
2. Next time a more cohesive group – the different members wanted totally different things.
3. None – up to my eyeballs in work.
4. a. Biggest problem was no formal meeting times because of time zone conflicts. I think it would really help if all members are from a similar area (within 3-4 time zones).
b. Even though “P2PU”, definitely people want some direction and organization with specific goals – maybe 70% organized-30% free.
LFS
It was a good chance to try to improve my design for
peer-to-peer learning activities.
2. What will you change next time around
Next time I hope to work with participants on
PlanetMath with improved support for problems and
solutions.
3. What courses you want to lead in April
Probably none, because I will be focusing on PlanetMath
stuff, per (2).
4. Any other comments
If we agree to apply for a grant, or find some other
way to go about it, I'd be interested to hammer out the
details of the proposal I made at
http://lists.p2pu.org/pipermail/p2pu-dev/2011-February/000384.html --
and further, whether it is through a proposal like this or
something else, I will look forward to discussing next steps
for SoMF.
