The US HUB is offline.  This is due to backhoe fade at about 450'.

A contractor was hired to remove some equipment at my repeater site, and they
removed a fiber tray owned by our upstream and cut the fiber as well.

We expect this to be restored by Friday, but could easily be next week.  As
there was never a ushub2 built, it's going to be down for a bit.

I deal with this sort of thing on a global scale....  What really sucks is when you issues with under-sea cables....

What is needed to bring a USHub2 online?  I'm a network engineer with access to surplus gear, etc.

I've offered a year or so ago to show how this could be done and automate it.
The issue is everyone would need to add configuration to their routers as the
config in use was slapped together without much thought. OSPF needs to die,
ISIS would be the protocol of choice on this as it moves the areas on the
segment rather than the interface.

The issue is really one of development being stagnant. The network as is
won't scale nicely. I'm working on some p25 linking software now to replace
it, and we're having some help on the HDLC sync to async conversion too.

I can't control/plan for vandals cutting fiber.

It's not our fiber. We have to wait on the provider.
