Help printing Headers/Footers

Situation:
pdf document containing both portrait and landscape oriented pages (tabular data)

Problem:
Need to create header/footer which follows the correct orientation for placement within the document..so that headers don not appear on the right/left side for landscape pages (starting the doc with portrait.

Appreciate tips/guidance to software/plug-ins
